Dell Streak 10 Pro Tablet to Debut in China

Dell has announced that its upcoming Streak 10 Pro tablet will be launched first in China this summer. Dell’s Vice President for mobile devices John Thode points to several “inhibitors and barriers to success” as its reasons why the tablet device would not debut in the United States where the company is based. These so-called inhibitors include mobile carriers dictating pricing models, which Thode says stifle the adoption of tablets.
The Dell Streak 10 Pro features a 10-inch screen with 1,280 x 800 resolution, an edge-to-edge glass surface, Android Honeycomb, NVIDIA Tegra dual-core processor, two cameras, a SD card slot, and 1080p video playback capability. A separate dock would allow the tablet to serve as a USB host, while its connectivity functions would expand to HDMI and Ethernet apart from USB.

But don’t fret, America. The Streak 10 Pro will arrive in The Land of the Free by 2012, by that time with a newer version of Android.
